Landscape Photographer based in Worthing, West Sussex

"Inspired everyday by the beauty that surrounds us"

I grew up in Weymouth, Dorset and have fond memories of the beaches along the Jurassic Coast.  I spent many long walks out with my grandfather and I believe this is where my love for being out in nature first came about.  When I was 16  I took a short course in photography. I used a borrowed Brownie camera and spent a little time in the dark room.  I would have loved to have been able to paint but lacked the patience required, so I turned to cameras to capture the moment and the beauty I see in the landscape.

It was not until 2009, when I purchased my first digital camera, that I got really hooked.  I moved to Worthing in 1994 and live about a five minute walk from the seafront, where the beach has been my learning ground.  In those early days I would be out every day, sometimes twice a day, and for me it was the best way to learn.

I am lucky enough to be part of East Beach Artist's Collective in Worthing selling my work from a small gallery on the seafront called Seasons

Member of Parhelion

Steering Group Member, Worthing Artist Open Houses

I have been commissioned to work for private clients, ETI Ltd (client calendar 2017) and the Woodland Trust.

I am passionate about all genres of photography but one that really captures my heart is being out in the landscape at dawn. The Misty countryside bathed in early morning light is truly a delight for the soul.

"Lorraine's photo has such emotional impact and really showcases the South Downs National Park as a world class destination. The competition was phenomenally tough this year but Lorraine's ethereal photo, which completely fits this year's theme 'Perfectly Seasoned', is a well-deserved winner."
